We wanted to take a moment to update you on a developing situation that is beginning to impact global supply chains.
You may already be aware of the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran. This situation is now having a noticeable effect on global markets, particularly through rising oil prices. As a result, we are seeing increases in ocean freight costs, as well as domestic distribution and haulage charges here in the UK.
Over recent weeks, we have been in regular contact with both our UK and international suppliers. Many have indicated that cost pressures are building within their own supply chains, and some have now begun to confirm potential price increases. In certain cases, upstream suppliers have even declared force majeure, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.
While the level of impact varies depending on the product, it is clear that this issue is now influencing raw material costs and availability on a global scale. At this stage, it is not a question of whether there will be an impact, but rather how significant that impact will be.
We are currently assessing the position in detail and are working closely with our suppliers, freight partners, and hauliers to minimise any increases wherever possible. We will provide a further update before the end of March once we have a clearer understanding of the full effect.
If any price adjustments become necessary, we will of course provide a minimum of 30 days’ notice. Your account manager will also be in touch directly to discuss any changes relevant to your products.
As always, we remain committed to maintaining continuity of supply and service. We are monitoring the situation closely and staying in regular contact with our partners so that we can respond quickly as things develop.
We appreciate your understanding and continued support during what is an uncertain period, and we will keep you fully informed as matters progress.
